About the Artist

Cassie Lozuk is a painter interested in how looking closely helps us stay in relationship with people, places, and moments that are changing. She gravitates toward portraiture, and her subject is frequently her daughter. Themes of relationship and nostalgia are common in her work, and she enjoys contrasting melancholy feelings with vibrant colors as a way of both expressing and improving her emotional experiences.

Lozuk completed a BFA in Visual Communication at the University of North Texas, and a career in graphic design followed. In 2016 she sought a more personal form of expression and began developing her studio practice.

Lozuk held her first Open Studio event in 2023 and participated in Preservation is the Art of the City in 2024 and 2025, and exhibited in The Marks We Make at Fort Works Art in 2025. In addition, Lozuk has completed numerous private commissions.
